International adoption has become increasingly popular and is pursued by many of the prospective adoptive applicants we serve. Adoption Connection conducts home studies and provides post placement services for international adoption. These home studies must meet the requirements not only of the State but of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the country from which you adopt. Once you have chosen a country and an international placing agency, Adoption Connection can complete a home study that meets all of the requirements. The State of Tennessee and/or the country from which you adopt will have requirements for post placement supervision and reports for a certain period of time. During that time we will meet with you, provide assistance if you need it, and note the growth and development of your child.
Adoption Connection will work with any licensed international placing agency that you choose. If you don't know what country you want to adopt from or what international placing agency to use, we can provide information that can help you make those choices. Adoption Connection has partnered with Children's Home Society and Family Services (CHSFS) in St. Paul Minnesota in order to expand our respective resource so that we can offer families wider options for international adoption. Whether you choose to use CHSFS or whether you decide to go with a different international placing agency, we are available to offer you home studies, post placement services, information, guidance, and support throughout the adoption process and beyond.
